Gavin has served the Ghosts of Retribution since its founding, rising to Sergeant during the brutal cleansing of Varda and commanding his squad admirably for many years in the Sixth Company. In the wake of the Betrayal at Varda, Gavin was promoted into the First Company as a chapter Veteran. Unfortunately his first major battle as a Veteran would become his last as a man. During Operation Wild Hunt, Gavin joined Chapter Master in the cleansing of the underground temple. Though he and his squad served well and the heretics that dwelt within swiftly massacred, one of the fallen plague marines detonated violently as the foul gasses within his rotten body built up, and Gavin was bathed with highly corrosive ichor that ate through his power armour in seconds. Wounded beyond recovery, Gavin was interned within a Dreadnought Sarcophagus so he could continue his service to the company and chapter.
Brother Gavin took part in the Battle of Sictix (355.M41), where he stormed the moon canyon system and gunned down multiple bloodletters with his assault cannon, before crushing one in his power claw.
