About: Brother Merkon, Captain of the Ghosts of Retribution 2nd Company, was a strong proponent of rational approach to combat. He never denied that close quarters assaults are very useful, but he also often noted, that risks associated with them are extremely high, as everyone witnessed during Varda Campaign. Having in mind that the Chapter was very young at the time and every lost brother was a tragedy, Merkon trained his Company to meet the enemy on their conditions - from a good vantage point and with a full clip. Even though it was a very unusual thing for a Captain, Merkon himself took up Mark. III Astartes Sniper Rifle as a symbol for what he believed in. Over the years he modified it greatly with the help of Prinium, Master of the Forge. Merkon wielded this weapon in his last battle during the Operation Ice Spear, but as ironical as it might be, just before his death he threw it away and charged the enemies into close combat. Some say that he did it because he blamed himself for the failure of his tactics to win the battle, others claim that he did it to protect the rifle for the future generations of Ghosts.
Features: Specialised target-finder increases chances for anyone who wields this weapon to hit the enemy by +20 Marksmanship. Also, this sniper rifle is modified to shoot both Bolt rounds and Exitus Rifle ammunition.
