  • Planet-of-oblivion

    Ginaria

    World: Giniaria
  • Location: Subsector Meridian
  • Type: Forested Agri World
  • Tithe: [Agri] Ginaria exports mostly food in the form of fruits, meat and grain surprisingly well adapted to mountainous terrain.
  • Population: 820 million
  • Government: Feudal Democracy - the most important Lord on the planet is the Planetary Governor, who strives to balance the competing demands of the Steel Lords and the Forest Lords.
  • Description: A series of high mountans and green forests dominate the planet of Gianaria. Political power is divided into two great factions - Steel Lords, who control the mining facilities, cities and primitive industry, while Forest Lords are the ones in control of the ancient gigantic STC food harvesters that march around the planet cutting down forests and recycling soft xeno-timber into nutritious pasta called gina. However growing industrial base and influx of Imperial technology has recently caused the forested areas to slowly disappear, causing conflicts and social unrest across the planet. Another problem for humans is the ancient breed of ratlings who live in the deepest Ginarian forests and from time to time attack human settlements.
  • Military: Ginarian lords have their own armed forces, but the main weapon used by them are magnetic flintock rifles, so they are of little value outside their cultural space.
  • Technology: [III - Poor] Ginaria is still developing as a world, lasguns are considered to be of great value there.
  • Strategic importance: [Maxima] Ginaria t is the only Agri-World in Subsector Meridian, and provides most of worlds in the subsector with food. Losing it would mean that those worlds would suffer severe famine and destabilize the Imperium in this region of space.
  • Loyalty: [88% Imperial] The vast majority of the population is loyal to the Impirium, although ratlings and some renegade Forest lords from time to time cause trouble.
