The Krieg 128th Regiment was sent to Sector Deus in 342.M41 to serve under the command of the Ghosts of Retribution Chapter. Its duty in the sector was scheduled to end in 362.M41, and it was originally under the command of the unsettlingly impassive Colonel von Strahl.
In 363.M41 the Krieg 128th took part in the Triot Campaign, taking to the frontline of Operation Earthshatter and suffering grievous losses while holding the line against the ork horde. Over half the regiment - including Colonel Von Strahl - were killed in action during the operation and many of the rest badly wounded, rendering the regiment highly spent. However the Regiment conducted themselves with great valour and exceptional conduct, fighting side-by-side with the Ghosts of Retribution and providing vital rearguard and stopgap support against the tide of orks that assaulted the astartes position.
In 364.M41, shortly following the Triot Campaign, the Krieg 128th's term of service under the Ghosts of Retribution came to a close. The regiment returned to Krieg, their service in Sector Deus recorded as 'the calmest period any Krieg Regiment had experienced in over a century'.
