    Dercius D'anger

    Name: Dercius D'anger III
  • Occupation: Rogue Trader
  • Status: Deceased (329.M41)
  • Background: Daredevil and mischievous businessman, Dercius showed up in Sector Deus with a bang - he appeared out of nowhere before the ending of Third Ionian Crusade in 290.M41 and agreed to carry over 35 000 heretics from the Exterminatus-doomed world of Axis Mundi to safety of some unknown world. Arch-Cardinal Astrobelus Kest immediatelly declared him as a heretic and offered a bounty of 1 million silver thrones for his head, but Dercius openly showed up with an empty ship in Tachion Primaris and demanded Imperial Court to judge his actions. During the proceedings he argued, that all of the people he saved were unarmed devout civilians who posed no threat to the Imperium - except one. He then brought into the room Jeshua Hanozri, psychic leader of Ionian Heresy, who claimed to be the son of the Emperor and his prophet. As neither Ecclesiarchy, nor Inquisition ever hoped to take him alive, this was a great shock to everyone and Sector Governor himself signed the writ of amnesty for Dercius, ignoring the fact that the rest of heretics he saved have gone missing. On the other hand despite this spectacular feat of wits, Astrobelus Kest refused to pay him more than a standart reward for taking an enemy officer as prisoner and gave him only 30 silver thrones. Dercius was greatly annoyed by this and there are rumours, that he melted those thrones into bullets that he uses to shoot priests, however this is most likely just another exaggerated rumour about him, just as the rest of his biography.
  • Recent history: He has worked with Ghosts of Retribution during their joint expedition to the Dark Sister. Also his name was used by unknown organisation to trick Chapter Master into accepting Henrikus Isdavik to defend the Chapter in Imperial Court. Later, he came to work for Ghosts of Retribution again as he supplied Mormark with food from Agri-world of Oskea. However Chapter Master soon betrayed him by giving his location toSilent Guardians, who were looking for him because he stole some artifacts from one of the forbidden worlds under their protection. Ghosts of Retribution arranged him to wait for them in the Mergidos system in 329.M41 , while Silent Guardians were informed that he'll be there. It is assumed, that in the following confrontation he was killed. Xyptus investigated his whereabouts afterwards and discovered he was indeed dead, but his daughter, Tesalia, had vowed to discover the details of his death and exact vengeance.
